The Eyes of Tammy Faye
In the struggle between spirituality and money, the winner is obvious for Mammon in Michael Showalter's delightfully tacky true story about the fallen religious broadcaster and her criminal husband. Andrew Garfield portrays the corrupt Bakker, who proclaims at the beginning, asserting religious justification for riches. Both individuals begin monetising the American public's Christian beliefs. It's a riot of tacky decor, bad makeup and bad faith, though Jessica Chastain manages to show Tammy Faye as a sympathetic figure. Next Tuesday, 1.15am, the Film4 channel
